From the press release: The Chinese Canadian Historical Society of BC (CCHSBC) is pleased to announce that long time Chinatown advocate Fred Mah is to honoured for his contributions to the Chinese Canadian community and to Vancouver at the society’s annual banquet March 9, 2013.
Ken Yip, CCHSBC president said “we are delighted that we have an opportunity to recognize and celebrate Fred’s community contributions for the last 40 years. Through his efforts, Chinatown and the city of Vancouver have benefited greatly”. City Councillor Raymond Louie added that “Fred Mah has been an outstanding citizen of our City for so many, many years, he is a role model for community involvement and engagement”.
The banquet will be held at the Flamingo Restaurant, 7510 Cambie Street in Vancouver on Saturday March 9 at 6:00pm. Tickets are $65.00 for non-members and $50.00 for CCHSBC members. There are door prizes!
Proceeds from the evening will go to benefit the society’s annual Chinese Canadian Educational Youth Summer Camp
