Houston City Hall

Houston City Hall was designed by Joseph Finger an Austrian-born Texan. Construction started in 1938.

Vancouver’s City Hall was designed by the firm of Townley and Matheson. Construction began in 1936.

Both buildings reflect the Art Moderne style popular in the period and are similar to a number of government buildings notably through the southwest of the States.

Check out Ogden City Hall and St. Paul’s City Hall and Courthouse and then there’s the extravagant Bullock’s.
